There comes a time when you've come to the end of a chapter or season in life and you must transition to another one. Many times in my life, something that ended in a great reward, usually started with an extremely difficult task. Sometimes, that task is a challenge that stretches and molds your whole being.
Be careful what you pray for... because God is more than able to give you what you want and much more. Our answer would require us to temporarily care for and raise a 2-yr old family member; AND physically move outside and away from our comfort zone. We were about to have our lives turned inside out and upside down in one of the most difficult yet rewarding seasons of our lives.
God is always faithful to equip me with whatever is needed for the task. Through this series, I will be sharing how our lives were changed and how we learned to be essentially fueled to respond well to our surroundings, whether it be physically or mentally.
Now, back to the prayer and the answer. We lived in the thriving metropolis of Frisco, Texas. We absolutely loved it there. I was a very successful fitness professional managing highly profitable gyms. I lived in a nice home with nice cars, dogs and a beautiful wife and 2 amazing boys. I had it all but... There was something missing. I spent more time with my work family than I did with my real family. I made lots of money but "money can't buy happiness." There had to be more to life than to work 12-14 hours a day, get little sleep, just to get up and do it all over again. The first answer to prayer was the establishment of this company, Just Oil It, where I am able to educate the masses on living a healthy lifestyle and preventing the normal sicknesses that we see on a daily basis. I was able to work from home, homeschool my boys and be a freelance fitness consultant, all running on my own schedule. The second answer was the blessing of being able to temporarily care for our 2 year-old cousin A'veiya (or "Yah Yah" as she calls herself) when her family was in need. The third answer would send us "city slickers" out to the country on a journey east, and our destination?? Poetry, Tx. (population of less than 1000) Stay tuned for EPISODE 2...SNOW LAUGHING MATTER!!
Today's lesson: Great things come in small packages! Small family members and small towns. When you ask for God to shake things up, He really does shake things up!!
Stay physically and spiritually fit. Live it. Love it. Share it. Comment below. Shalom.
